Caldecott and Newbery Awards in the Children's Collection
Jackson Library purchases the Newbery and Caldecott winners each year. They are shelved in the juvenile collection in the lower level of the library.

Caldecott Lists
The Caldecott Awards have been awarded annually since 1938 by the American Library Association to the illustrator of the most distinguished American picture book for children.
Every year in January, one medal winner is chosen, and at least one honor book is chosen at the ALA's Annual Conference.
Newbery Lists
The Newbery Awards have been given annually since 1922 by the American Library Association to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.
Every year, one medal winner is chosen, and in most years one or more honor books are also chosen.
