What is Films on Demand?

Films On Demand is a streaming film database of over 17,000 educational films and documentaries. These videos can be embedded or linked within Brightspace or in a custom research guide like this one.
 
Faculty can also create a personal playlist made up of films or film segments they wish students to view and link students to that playlist.
 
Producers that have films available via Filems on Demand, i.e. Films for the Humanities and Sciences, BBC TED, A&E, History, ABC News, PBS, CLIO)

Linking to Films on Demand

USING FILMS ON DEMAND IN Brightspace

  • CREATING A WEB LINK TO A VIDEO

    1. Underneath the video player in Films on Demand, click on the Embed/Link. 

    2. Use the "Record URL" box and click copy to the right of that box.

    3. Now navigate to your course in Brightspace, and select Content on the navbar.Go to the module where the video is to reside. Next, select the Update/Create button. From the drop-down menu select Create a Link.

    4. Enter a title in the Titlearea. Paste the link from Film on Demand in the URLbox. Click on the Create;button.

    5. Test the link by going back to the Content tool and clicking on the link you have just created. You should be taken to the video you chose in Films on Demand.
