Search Tips

• EDS’ default search treats all terms you enter in a search box as though they are joined with AND. For example, if you enter: cloud computing servers, EDS will find items that contain all 3 terms.  To combine your terms in other ways (such as OR or NOT), use the advanced search.
• To improve the relevancy of your search results, enclose phrases in "quotation marks". For example:  "fog computing" or "environmental engineering".
• If there is an apostrophe in your search term, include it.  For example, use "Parkinson's disease" -- not "Parkinsons disease"
• To find variant endings for a word, use the * asterisk (truncation symbol.)  For example:  network* finds networks, networking, networked, etc.

To limit your search to articles in IEEE XPlore®,:

• Check Scholarly Journals and Full Text, then hit submit your search. 
• Once your results are returned, use the Limit To Database facet on the right side. 

• If you don't initially see IEEE listed, then select Show More.  A popup will come up with the database names as well as the number of articles for your subject per each name. 
• Select Name at the top, to put the databases in alphabetical order,

• Select IEEE XPlore® to limit your results to IEEE article
• Use other limiters to narrow your search by date, subject,, language etc.
